Home to the Claystone Clydesdales & Infrangible Rescues
Claystone farm was originated in 1972 by Carl and Betty Nelson. Claystone was originally a dairy farm until the late 70's when the farm switched to polled Hereford beef cattle. By the mid 80's the Nelsons retired and so did the cattle operation. Carl died in 1995 and left the farm to Betty and his son Michael. Betty passed on in 2004. Where the farm was than taken over by Michael Nelson, Carl's son. 2005 brought many changes to Claystone. Claystone farm was also home to the Nelson racing, formula Indy car team from 1998 till 2008. Buildings were demolished, and the property cleaned up. A new horse barn was built and Claystone became home to Maplewood Arabians. One of Carl's passions was Clydesdale horses. He traveled all over the country to see these magnificent horses but never owned any. Mike was also a Clydesdale fan and in 2010, Maplewood Arabians were joined by Claystone farm Clydesdales. 2012 brought more changes to the farm. Mike formed NQ Growers LLC. and brought back cattle to the farm. 2014 was a year that brought more changes. Mike met Shanon Domenosky and became engaged in July with Shanon came Brittnie and Kimmie, Shanon's beautiful daughters. Shanon and the girls became very much apart of the day to day operations. Shanon also made Claystone farm home to her Infrangible Rescue horses. in July NQ Growers was bought out by Mike and Shanon. In November, Claystone was officially changed to Claystone Stock Farms Inc. 2015 was the first year Claystone started to offer lessons and farm tours. Making certain to offer the safest, most effective and affordable for everyone that loves horses. To the ever changing markets the cattle operation was shut down in 2018. The buildings were remodeled and now house the Clydesdale hitch and breeding operation.

Do you love horses for what they are and not what they do or what they look like? Here's a little story on how Infrangible Recues got started.
Shanon, the head trainer/owner, has always loved her horses and she has always believed that everyone gets a second chance. Therefore every horse that she has rescued, has helped or brought home to Claystone, has gotten a second chance. To thrive again at life because of her love for horses. She has helped horses of all ages, breeds, sizes and shapes. It is something she's always known best in her 40+ years of experience.
The very same rescue horses are rehabilitated, retrained & then provide riding lessons & trail rides for individuals of all ages or abilities. Their "Time to truly shine within my program Loving horses one lesson at a time!"
One of her favorite sayings is, "You don't thrown entire life away just because it's banged up a little." ~Seabiscuit
Have you been a Clydesdale fan? Well let me tell you a little bit about them and what we do here.
Clydesdale's are the Scottish breed of draft horses. They've been used in farming and heavy road hauling for plenty of years as they are very strong, muscular horses. In which these horses have also been used for driving, riding and leading parades. In fact Budweiser Brewery was the first to own Clydesdale horses. Influencing others all around the world because of their breed & brand.
Claystone got into Clydesdale's because the owner/founder (& his late father) Micheal Nelson was always a big fan of them. Which lead this journey to begin. As he started he began to halter show the Clydes as babies. As they matured/aged & were broke under harness, this lead to cart driving and then wagon driving. Now he & Shanon successfully drive them at Clydesdale Shows all over.
You too can learn to successfully drive our Clydesdales if you have the desire to learn!
